Food is for nutrition and to provide the body with energy and vital nutrients. Names of foods help us to know what the likely ingredients might be in it. But often, we notice that food names are misleading. They can fool a person into buying only to realize that it did not meet their expectations and imagination. For instance, take the example of samosa. An ideal samosa is refined wheat flour (maida) wrap with mashed potatoes and boiled peas inside. And when we say paneer samosa (cottage cheese stuffed fried dumplings), the picture that comes to our mind is of a wrap of refined wheat flour dough with paneer inside. But to your disappointment, you will find that these samosas are nothing but the normal samosas with mashed potatoes with or without boiled peas and just 1 small piece of cottage cheese at one corner!!! Big food retailers and supermarkets in the USA gear up to play an active role in mass covid-19 immunization program!

 Big grocery shops and supermarkets have stepped in to inform shoppers about their role in the mass immunization program that has started in the USA against COVIC-19. H-E-B, Kroger, Walmart, and others are issuing statements to their clients on how they are part of the immunization program of the USA in phase 1b. The grocery shops are working with the US public health departments to manage their immunization campaigns. They are also committed to bring the coronavirus pandemic under control and are doing their bit for the society. These food retailers had helped earlier as well by providing covid-19 tests on their premises. And now, they are also going to be an active part of the mass inoculation program against coronavirus.

Big food retailers and supermarkets are gearing up to play an active role in the mass covid-19 immunization program that has started in the USA. Earlier, the food retailers were also offering covid-19 tests on their premises for shoppers. And now they would be offering the covid-19 vaccines too.

The supermarkets have started providing the information on their websites and on the local premises for the shoppers on when and how they can get the covid-19 vaccine. The vaccine is now being administered to the frontline healthcare workers in phase 1 of the 3-phased immunization campaign in the USA.

H-E-B has also provided details and guidelines for its personnel on how to vaccinate. The vaccines are in short supply and hence care has to be taken to see to it that it does not spoil. The websites have also given the reason behind the short supply of the vaccine. They have laid down the criteria for people who will get the vaccination now and also on how the people can show their eligibility to receive the vaccine. The procedure on how to get an appointment for the vaccination and it has also stressed that it is acting in accordance with the directions it got from the CDC and the local public health department.

Food retailer Kroger has also posted guidelines on who gets the vaccination first. It also asserted that the vaccine is highly effective and it is good to take it. It also talks about the safety of the vaccine.

On the other hand, Walmart is first vaccinating its own pharmacy staff before it goes on to vaccinate the public at large. It added on its website in the form of FAQs that it is working in accordance with the directions issued to it from the public health authorities.

Albertsons also revealed that it is part of the national vaccine-distribution plan and would be working along with it. There is also a place for people to sign up for new information related to the vaccination program.

There is a general feeling amongst the epidemiologists and policymakers that people may get misguided about the vaccination and this would deter them from taking the vaccine. For its part, both Facebook and Twitter have removed all false information about the vaccination against the deadly coronavirus!!!
