If you do not want to invite friends over for meals, you can do something different but exciting. You can put on your best look and dress and go out for some volunteering work on that day. You may visit an orphanage or a shelter home and help to bring back the smiles on the inmates of those homes. You may visit an old age home and get some happiness trying to make the aged people happy. It will be a challenge for you and this new occupation might give you a lot of internal peace and happiness.

Remember that as a human it is natural to cry. Hence to not hold yourself back as crying is part of the healing process. Try to be in the midst of supportive and loving people. Keep your feelings positive. Instead of feeling low, you can now spend Christmas time for yourself. This 'you time' might help you to know yourself better. Besides, try to find out what hobby or leisure-time activity excites you and try to learn or do it. You can go out on a small trip somewhere alone and enjoy the time with nature. Pamper yourself-a thing you might not have done for some time now. Take the opportunity and start planning for the next year.
Things happen in life that I beyond our control. But what is more important is how you handle it and get the most of even the difficult time.
