Sperm donors vs human milk donors - another injustice against women

Image
Indian culture is ant-women though it is a taboo to talk about this fact. Laws also do not support truly. There is something else written and something else said and done.  Women are usually put on more manual jobs and paid less. They are rarely given leadership jobs though they could have been better leaders of the hurdles in their lives were abolished.  Now coming to sperm donation vs human milk donation. If you see both, and think on those, you will realise that human milk donation is much more valuable and useful. Yet, human milk donors are either not paid or are paid less. But sperm donors are always paid and paid more. Why this difference???? Read: How to eat idlis? Law fails to help these mothers who I would say are exploited in the name of humanity. When sperm donation and surrogacy are compensated, why not human milk donation be compensated at par??? A food for thought!!!

What is Galentine's day? Know it's origin, meaning, and modes of celebration

Galentine's day! No it is not a spelling mistake. There is indeed a day called Galentine's day that falls on 13 February every year. It is meant for love between two female friends. Read on to know about its origin and meaning and what to do on that day!!!

Galentine's day and its origin

Many people are still ignorant about what is Galentine's day. It is a celebration of love between two female friends or female relatives. So it is day for girly friendship. Why should only romantic love be celebrated? All kinds of love need appreciation and celebration. Hence it is Galentine's day for all girls and women. It originates from the fusion of two words: gals and Valentine's day. So it becomes Galentine's day.

It falls on 13th February every year one day before Valentine's day. So that there is no mixture or confusion between celebration of romantic love and love of female friends or relatives. It originated from the Parks and Recreation's main fictional character called Leslie Knope. In 2010 episode she said:

Every February 13, my ladyfriends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.”

Why celebrate friendship?

Friendship is the support and pillar for many people. Strong friendships create a sense of belonging and provide purpose to a person. It improves confidence on self and reduces stress. You get good guidance and your coping power improves. Besides this and due to this high blood pressure levels decrease and depression is reduced. Lifespan increases and quality of life improves.

Why is WHO biased towards vaccine?

More than numbers what matters is the quality of your friends. Smaller circles are always better than larger ones. The former give meaningful connections. Days or events such as Galentine's dedicated to such friendships helps strengthen bondings.

How to celebrate Galentine's day?

On this day, there are several modes to celebrate it. One you can have a brunch together. It can be kept as a  socially distanced event because of the pandemic. One can have a dinner outing. Or a movie night together. Or just desserts together.

You can send each other lovely cards or hilarious cards. One can also share a specific quote. Or maybe give each other a special gift.

The lingerie brand Boux Avenue did a research and found that online search for Galentine's day rose 400% and that for Valentine's day dropped by 55% in 2015. So the day's importance is rising.

Though the group is predominantly women and girls, by extension it can include anyone with whom you are close but not romantically involved. And love knows no genders. The group can have women, men, trans and nonbinary folks, or anyone you consider a cherished friend.
