Sperm donors vs human milk donors - another injustice against women

Image
Indian culture is ant-women though it is a taboo to talk about this fact. Laws also do not support truly. There is something else written and something else said and done.  Women are usually put on more manual jobs and paid less. They are rarely given leadership jobs though they could have been better leaders of the hurdles in their lives were abolished.  Now coming to sperm donation vs human milk donation. If you see both, and think on those, you will realise that human milk donation is much more valuable and useful. Yet, human milk donors are either not paid or are paid less. But sperm donors are always paid and paid more. Why this difference???? Read: How to eat idlis? Law fails to help these mothers who I would say are exploited in the name of humanity. When sperm donation and surrogacy are compensated, why not human milk donation be compensated at par??? A food for thought!!!

Greek path to meaningful life and happiness!

The world had gone astray and a pandemic such as coronavirus was needed to make people rethink about true happiness in the world. It challenged people to focus on what really matters in life. The life came to a standstill all over the world and people were lonely and depressed. Family and social connections went virtual and existent unhappiness increased. The meaning of life was being questioned.

The modern humans

The real meaning of life, its essence, and true happiness have not changed since the time that human life began on this Earth. But somewhere along the way, all this was lost. Humans became busy and digital world developed. Personal and family life suffered. Health and sanity was sacrificed and replaced by diseases, mental problems, and stress. In pursuit of a good life, humans only got a bad one in return. But despite feeling it, it had become difficult for people to break this cycle and return back to what is good. Life became complex and one has to rewind it and get back to the simple things of life. So how?

The Greek path of happiness

Our ancestors had a hard life but it was happier. There was less stress and modern day diseases were unknown. They lived a quality life and longer. The secret was in simplicity.

The ancient Greeks philosophy was holistic and they looked at life in a complete way. They believed in interconnections within and outside an individual. They knew that body, mind, and soul are integrated and not separate. Affection of one component influences the other.

Aristotle believed that human is a social animal and wants to belong. And this sense of togetherness has to be true and deep. But in the present world of social media, these important things are lost. Hence people feel isolated and fall prey to mental illnesses easily. We are wrongly relying on strangers instead of our own good social circle. Though becoming independent, we are losing the personal touch and feelings of things.

But Greek path was of connectivity and meaningful life. We are part of the world and sharing, caring, and communicating brings in happiness in the true sense of the word.

More on the Greek philosophy

Stopping to greet others has disappeared in the modern world. Greeting acknowledges the presence of others around and is good to add meaning to life. Converse and share and care and help. Also, the ancient Greeks believed in taking life as it comes and embrace it with zest. Enjoy life since it is short and may not last. The present may change and hence learn to accept the change.

Life is energy and well-being is to keep this energy flowing well. Have healthier choices. One needs to be content and feel fulfilled. Everyday there is an opportunity to improve truthful and healthy connectivity and imbibe it and add meaning to life. One has to 'know thyself' before applying a solution to one's problems. Everyone has an inner voice and it should be kept awake and good. Listen to it and do not be swayed by outside world. Be true to oneself and also to others.
