Couples come together for a common purpose. They bear children and start parenting them. But at times, they may grow apart and not want to remain a couple. They may want to separate. But society and law often prevents this separation. Because they feel that children might get affected due to the separation. Hence, law has made divorce difficult and asks couples the reason for the separation. They need to show some fault in the partner in order to get legal separation. But this only opens another Pandora's box in which false accusations and blame game begins. This is unhealthy and stressful not only for the couple but also for their children. Divorce of their parents does affect children. It can lead to stress and academic struggles in them. They might suffer severe mental stress and demonstrate behaviour changes in them. One health care worker from Oregon gets a severe allergic reaction with Moderna covid-19 vaccine; is stable now in hospital!

 Everything is not rosy at the COVID-19 vaccination front. Two vaccines against COVID-19; Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna have rolled out in the USA after the emergency FDA approval to both. But some issues are being reported time and again though no fatality related to the vaccine has yet been reported. Now, a health care worker from Oregon developed a serious allergic reaction with Moderna covid-19 vaccine that needed hospitalization. Luckily he is on the road to recovery, say sources.

A health care worker from Oregon received the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and had developed a serious allergic reaction to it. It was so severe that he had to be admitted in the hospital to counteract the ill-effects of the vaccine on him. He is now stable and on the road to recovery, state his doctors. It is not clear whether the health care worker had any past history of allergy.

There have been some cases of allergic reactions reported with the two vaccines since they are getting administered to people on a mass scale. In the UK, two health care workers developed an allergic reaction to the vaccine. Both of them had past history of severe allergies and were on emergency EpiPen injections for SOS use. There were some cases also reported from the USA. 

This case is the first from Oregon. 

Moderna covid-19 vaccine and facial fillers

People with facial fillers were told to be careful with Moderna vaccine since it might lead to facial swelling. But no allergies were yet reported with Moderna though Pfizer vaccine did lead to the other allergic cases. This is therefore the first case of allergy reported with Moderna vaccine. This reaction happened on 24 December 2020. 

Federal health officials have said that Moderna vaccine does lead to severe allergies in rare cases. This is usually within an hour of taking the vaccine. But other people get only local injection site pain, nausea, fatigue, and headaches. The manufacturers state that allergies happened in those who received Moderna vaccine and those who did not receive the vaccine with similar incidence. Hence Moderna vaccine per se does not increase the chance of a person to get an allergic reaction.

But since the development and approval of the vaccine was on a fast-track basis, future will tell exactly what is the case. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices stated: 

“Surveillance will be critical to detect any rare serious adverse events which were not identified in the clinical trial,” 

Health authorities have asked people with severe allergies to other vaccination to consult their doctors on whether they should have the vaccine or not. 

Moderna vaccine for covid in Oregon

Around 38700 people in Oregon got the covid-19 vaccine and 12054 of these were Moderna vaccine. The vaccination rate is still low compared to other parts of the USA. In Oregon it is 529 people per 100000.
