Going vegan is becoming a trend worldwide and especially amongst youngsters. There are some devoted vegans who are carrying the movement forward. Veganism is good for humans, animals, and the universe. But the movement has to move forward in the right way and also highlight the limitations of a purely vegan diet. But this is not taking place. There is no knowledge provided of what exactly should a vegan eat and add as supplements in his daily food. Besides, there is a lot of aggression and hypocrisy from these devoted advocates of the movement. This will in the long run harm the movement and lead to people coming back to non-vegetarian eating habits. The approach for the changeover has to be based on proper and adequate information and with compassion and understanding rather than with aggression or misinformation.
Vegan foods and their limitations
Vegan food is healthy and can be made healthier. But there are some deficiencies noticed with purely vegan foods. These include vitamins and especially Vitamin B12. An individual needs to address this properly and avoid it. It takes efforts, time, and also money to prevent and overcome these likely deficiencies due to pure vegan foods consumption.

Besides, not all vegan foods that are advocated have lessened carbon footprint. Some such as soy-based products and avocados can have more carbon footprint and thus are not sustainable food items. But pictures of avocados and soy-based products are seen on every vegan food posters. While the advocates of vegan diets scold and criticize others for eating unsustainably, they are overlooking this important misinformation in their part. This lapse and oversight could damage the environment and not achieve what we set out to get. WWF states:
"Without proper safeguards, the soybean industry is causing widespread deforestation and displacement of small farmers and indigenous people around the globe."
Soy transportation from the farms to the plates is also a great issue-filled arena. Besides, devoted vegan eaters have gone overboard and taken to aggression to force others to stop eating non-veg foods. This is risky for the movement because no one likes to be forced to stop eating what they have been eating for years and which they relish.
The right way to handle and change people behavior
In order to let people know about the benefits of the vegan diet, one needs to go soft. We need to start small and not insist on an abrupt change in food habits. Nor should we get agitated at what people are eating. Complete information on why vegan foods are better than non-veg foods for the world and people and also animals should be explained and people should be requested to change their food habits.

The change has to be a gradual process. People can start increasing plant-based foods slowly and cutting down on their meat food items in daily food. This will help to get public support for the movement. Change of behavior and eating habits will take place slowly and cannot be expected overnight.

Sudden change is also not good for the dairy and meat industries because it would cause them financial loss and many people might go unemployed. Suggestions to people with proper and right information would help the movement to progress forward even if it is with small steps. 'Slow and steady wins the race'. Sustainable farming will take 50 years or more to be implemented.
