Food companies and their misleading labels

Food is for nutrition and to provide the body with energy and vital nutrients. Names of foods help us to know what the likely ingredients might be in it. But often, we notice that food names are misleading. They can fool a person into buying only to realize that it did not meet their expectations and imagination. For instance, take the example of samosa. An ideal samosa is refined wheat flour (maida) wrap with mashed potatoes and boiled peas inside. And when we say paneer samosa (cottage cheese stuffed fried dumplings), the picture that comes to our mind is of a wrap of refined wheat flour dough with paneer inside. But to your disappointment, you will find that these samosas are nothing but the normal samosas with mashed potatoes with or without boiled peas and just 1 small piece of cottage cheese at one corner!!! Katie Price is selling the controversial earwax removing ear candles on her social media!

 What is wrong with the supermodel Katie Price! She has not had enough negative publicity that now again she is going for another one. This time around, she is selling earwax candles and posted a video of it on her social media. Last year, she was selling her undies for quick cash.

The former supermodel, Katie Price, 42 seems to be really in deep financial crisis. She has been trying to make some quick bucks selling some really odd things. Last year, she was selling undies to make money and this year, Katie is seen selling ear candling device. She has posted a video of her selling the weird items on her social media.

She uploaded a video on her Instagram and in it she is seen getting shocked as she removes a big chunk of wax from her ear. She says in the posted video: 

"Hey guys, so I've got something to show you that is so unique. It is an ears cleaner ear candle, you wait till you see this, it really does work."

Katie then goes on to explain: 

"So ear candling is an ancient medical practice and they believe it helps with your health and well-being." 

In the video, one can see her current boyfriend Carl light one end of the candle while she has placed the other end in her one ear. After some time, Katie puts off the candle and shows a huge piece of earwax pulled out of her ear. 

After this demonstration, she also reveals that when you buy one you get the second one free. So it is a Buy 1 Get 1 free offer now.

Criticism of ear candles

The ear candles are not recommended by the ENT doctors. It has been a heavily criticized product and said to be dangerous also. Besides, the American Academy of Audiology has also added that it is not only unsafe but there is no proof of its effectiveness. It does not pull out wax from the ear, as the claims state.

There have been ear injuries and burns reported with these ear candle use in the UK. Reports of eardrum perforations and ear canal blockages have also surfaced. But despite this, Katie has been advertising this dangerous product on her social media.

The bad reputation and red alert on this product by the qualified practitioners did not deter her from advertising and endorsing it. We believe that it is just the money that lured her to endorse such a dangerous product. There are no laws in place to initiate legal action against such irrational advertising by a non-qualified person or celebrity.

Katie has been doing a lot of ad campaigns lately but these are all of the B-grade products and controversial products. She has put up a host of products on her social media for her fans. In one video she also went naked to talk about bath bombs. 

Besides, The Sun UK has also revealed that the former supermodel is launching her own skincare line called Just Katie. This will have posh organic skincare products. In this new venture, she will be selling $ 99 gift packs containing green mud soap. The packaging is claimed to be eco-friendly.

The ex-glamour model has also made her own website and she is offering her fans and readers a variety of products. The tagline is: 

"Katie treats you beautifully this Xmas."

She claims that her products are kind to the environment and it loves and protects people's skin. She told her fans: 

"My Just Katie range comes will all my love and personal input-a reflection of the woman I am today-the woman I always wanted to be-True beauty comes from within with a little help from goodness on the outside."

“This range is to enhance what we see, to love and protect from the signs or tired, dehydrated, stressed skin that our body goes through from everyday real life.

“Our body’s skin surface and souls wellbeing are to be loved and to be loved in return, give back to yourself and take time out to pause and pamper,

“By being kind to the environment together we can organically help to make this world a better place.”

She has gone bankrupt and spent all her money on plastic surgery, expensive holidays, and costly gifts. She also purchased a farm worth $ 1.9 million and it has not given even one pint of milk.
